In this Asus ExpertBook P2 review, I will show you some secrets about it and decide if you want to buy it. Let us start…
Asus is taking the enterprise market for laptops very seriously. Its new Asus ExpertBook P2 is designed to have enough capacity to perform most day-to-day activities with business-grade capability and security at a reasonably competitive price.
Similarly, ASUS recently announced its entrance into the Commercial PC industry in India with the Expert Series Range of Laptops—ExpertBook P2, ExpertBook B9, ASUSPRO ExpertBookP1 series, and more.
It also comes with utilities such as a fingerprint reader, a camera cover, an enterprise-grade encryption chip, and more.
Asus ExpertBook P2 reviews agree that the device is designed very well, and the lid and keyboard area have very little flex. It’s pretty lean, too.
Asus ExpertBook P2 review – ASUS argues that the laptop architecture isMIL-STD-810G-compliant, which ensures that it should handle drops better than most laptops. The hinge is neither too loose nor too rigid, and you can open the aluminium-alloy lid with only one finger.
The body captures the fingerprints, though, so you’re going to have to keep washing it at least once a day.
The 14-inch monitor has slim bezels on three sides, ensuring that ASUS could fit a 14-inch screen within the average 13-inch laptop size. The show itself is pretty bad, though.
Neither the colours nor the light is worthy of praise, nor the angles of view. In reality, the viewing angles are so low. I’m sure ASUS uses a low-cost TN (Twisted Nematic) panel.
I might have known the option of a TN monitor if it was an entry-level gaming laptop, but it’s not. TN panels have reasonable reaction times at the cost of viewing angles, but the ExpertBook P2 is a commercial notebook, so there is no requirement for high response times.
Plus, the brightness is below average, so replicating the colour (it just covers just 45 per cent of the NTSC colour gamut). ASUS should have done a lot more with the ExpertBook P2 display.
The performance below-para continues with the microphones, too. The highest standard of the volume is mediocre, and the consistency is nothing exceptional. At least you can use real wireless earphones consistently, thanks to Bluetooth 5.0.
Asus ExpertBook P2 review – We’ve got the Intel Core i7 version for testing. The company’s dipped Intel vPro chip meant tighter security and system control, most likely to hold costs down. However, you get the Core i7 CPU, Windows 10 Pro 64, and two customizable DIMM slots for up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD.
The Asus Expertbook P2 performed very well in day-to-day activities, and there were no signs of slowing down. We didn’t see any lag with about 45 tabs open in the window and a few applications running in the background, along with some data transfer.
Asus ExpertBook P2 review – There is a fingerprint sensor for authentication, which is very easy to unlock a laptop and more convenient than entering a registered PIN. It should be remembered that this smartphone does not support a face unlock option, which is perfect as the camera itself is not that fantastic.
There is no smart card reader port for safe login, most likely another cost-cutting measure. But the system is equipped with TPM 2.0 for improved security.
Yes, the straight answer is yes, it’s great quality with great value if you buy it.
