Using iMessage on Your PC

If you have an iPhone or an iPad and want to send and receive an SMS on your PC, you may consider purchasing a third-party SMS application. Fortunately, there are several available options. You’ll be able to read your text messages, receive and send emails, view your phone’s receipts, and more.

Spike Groups

Spike is a collaboration app that helps businesses connect with customers. It runs on Mac and Windows and is available for students and freelancers. You can easily create groups, set meetings, and manage tasks using Spike’s email-to-chat functionality.

Spike’s conversational email interface offers a similar experience to iMessage on PC. If you’re using an email account from a different provider, you can connect your existing account to Spike to take advantage of its features. Besides offering a rich email experience, Spike includes video meetings and voice messages.

The Groups feature in Spike helps you build group chats around your projects. You can add and remove members, create custom Group descriptions, and customize the first day of the week.

You can also view a list of all members of a Group and read their messages. You can even start and end conversations within a Group.

Jailbroken iPhone

If you want to use iMessage on your PC, you must jailbreak your iPhone. This will allow you to customize your iOS device and install apps that aren’t available in the Apple App Store.

However, this method will also void your warranty and leave your device vulnerable to malware. In addition, you will not be able to get automatic updates from Apple on a jailbroken device. To jailbreak your phone, you will need Cydia and Remote Messages, two apps that allow you to control your iPhone from your computer.

Cydia is an app directory that allows users to install applications not available through the Apple App Store. For example, it offers retro gaming emulators and other applications not listed in the App Store.

Read receipts

You can enable or disable read receipts if you are using iOS or Messages on your PC. They are great for time-sensitive communications. Read receipts and let the sender know when you’ve received and read their message. However, they can also be annoying.

Many users prefer to turn off read receipts. This way, they don’t have to worry about unread messages. Also, you may not be necessary to notify the recipient if you are unavailable. Then again, it can be not nice not to respond to a read message.

You can follow a few steps to disable or enable the read receipts feature. You will need to check the specific settings of your particular messaging app.

On iPhone and iPad, you can find the option for reading receipts in Settings. You will then have to create a new conversation with the person you want to use the receipt feature on.
