Types of Teacher Training
There are many types of teacher training programs. Some of these include student teaching, pre-service teacher training, and PGCE. These programs all provide a certain level of teacher education. Pre-service teacher training

The study recommends some critical changes to improve the effectiveness of such programs.
The Ministry of Education and Sports in Uganda introduced Teacher Development Management Systems (TDMS) in 1994, aiming to improve the professional development of teachers through in-service teacher training. These systems motivated teachers to upgrade their academic qualifications. Despite these initiatives, little is known about the impact of these programs on teacher development. Furthermore, misconceptions and loopholes remain. To examine the effectiveness of in-service teacher training, researchers collected primary data from three districts in southwest Uganda in 2016. The researchers collected data through questionnaires and interviews with primary teachers and other stakeholders in education.
In-service teacher training programs have an essential role to play in reforming education systems. Teachers need to be trained in the latest educational practices, and in-service programs must promote the development of critical-thinking skills, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. In-service programs should also support the development of teachers’ professional commitments and conditions of service.

At the University of Central Florida, student teachers are expected to participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and student support meetings. They are also required to do lunch duty, if necessary. In addition, the student teaching experience is aligned with the school year, so the student teachers are expected to be in the classroom during school hours.
After completing teacher education courses, a student teacher is required to complete a semester of classroom teaching. This experience allows students to become more proficient in instructing, implementing a flexible curriculum, and assessing student performance. It also provides opportunities for self-reflection and growth. Typically, students complete their student teaching during their final fall or spring semesters of enrollment. Students must submit their applications at least a year in advance to be accepted into the program.
