Review Xiaomi Poco X3

If you’re in the market for a new smartphone that won’t break the bank, the Poco X3 should be at the top of your list. It packs some of the best specs in its price range and is more than worth a look.

Its performance is blisteringly good for a budget device, and it’ll efficiently run most of your favorite games. The display also has a 120Hz refresh rate, which means you can enjoy a higher-quality gaming experience than you’d usually expect for this sort of money.

Camera

The camera on the POCO X3 is an exciting mix of primary, ultra-wide, and selfie cameras. It features a 48MP primary camera with Sony IMX 582 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro shooter.

It’s also got a 20MP front-facing cam. Both of these are pretty capable, and we liked how they performed in all but the driest light.

The camera app includes many shooting modes, typical for a Xiaomi phone. There’s auto, pro, photo, video, portrait, night mode, 48MP, short video, and more.

Performance

The Poco X3 is one of the best bargains in this price range, thanks to excellent performance and a silky 120Hz display. Its 6GB of RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G means it’ll run various games and apps with little to no lag, but there’s still a bit of stutter when you push it too hard.

The camera is also a good fit for this budget, with decent detail and vibrant color. The 64Mp primary camera is a clear standout and handles light well without over-smoothing.

The 20MP selfie camera is pretty decent too. It’s not as good as the f/1.9 camera on the Poco X3, but it does pick up on skin tones and comes out with a healthy amount of detail.

Battery

The battery on the Poco X3 Pro is an impressive unit, offering a vast 5160mAh capable of getting you through the day without needing to recharge it. It’s not the longest on the market, but it’s enough for many people to get through a day of moderate use with screen-on time to spare.

Its screen is a 6.67-inch OLED panel that offers an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, and switching to 60Hz helps Android menus scroll faster. Combined with the powerful Snapdragon 860 processor, this device is worth considering for gamers or anyone who regularly uses a phone in this way.

It runs MIUI 12 on top of Android 10 with a software skin deviating from stock Android to manage battery usage, data services, and applications for optimized battery life. It might not be the most up-to-date smartphone you can buy, but it’s a decent option for the price.

Design

Design is an essential aspect of any smartphone. It helps make the phone stand out from similar phones and adds to its functionality.

The Xiaomi Poco X3 has a unique design that differs from similar phones. It is made of polycarbonate with multiple layers of textures and paint that is used to create a metallic surface and a cool hue that reflects light differently depending on your surroundings.

The design is unique, and the rear panel looks shiny and premium. It is also IP53-rated, protecting it against dust and light splashes.
